Safety equipment made from renewable materials protects people and the planet at the same time. The demand for responsible protection gear is on the rise, and biovinyl safety gloves made with UPM BioVerno naphtha are right on trend.

The Finnish company Jokasafe uses renewable BIOVYN biovinyl for its protective gloves. BIOVYN is made using UPM BioVerno naphtha. The renewable raw material for UPM BioVerno naphtha is crude tall oil, a pulp-making process residue. The wood-based UPM BioVerno naphtha is produced in the UPM Lappeenranta Biorefinery in Finland.

Biovinyl gloves have the same protective properties as gloves made from fossil vinyl and can be used several times depending on the target.

By using UPM BioVerno naphtha the carbon footprint of vinyl plastic is reduced up to 74% compared to fossil-based raw materials. To bring the benefits of certified, 100% biobased UPM BioVerno naphtha to as many producers as possible, the principle of mass balance is used, enabling gradual increase in the share of renewable material. UPM BioVerno naphtha  is ideal for replacing fossil raw materials in various products such as textiles, plastics, glues or label materials.
